Whiskeys Got My Soul AND 2nd Most Broadcast Downloads!
“Regional favorite” has been a descriptive term for the Kansas based band Steel Skarecrow for the last few years. But what some may not know is that the bands reach has been expanding beyond the region at a fast pace from the very beginning. Proof of that rests in the honor of being the second most downloaded act on the CD Tex list this past week finding themselves in good company with the other acts on that too 20 list.
Band leader and song writer/frontman Kurt Shobe says “We’re extremely thankful that people believe their listeners want to hear us. We get a lot of positive feedback out on the road and have had radio success in the past that has let us know that we have some fans out there. But when you land toward the top of a list like this it lets you know the momentum is still goin’ and that feels great” …
Momentum might be an understated term for a band that plays close to 100 shows a year in their region alone. Speaking to band management we have found that their reach is expanding as well on the road.
Venues from all over the country are now calling curious of how to get Steel Skarecrow on their marquee…one venue owner described it this way…
“It’s like seeing smoke on the horizon and your curiosity gets the best of you. You wanna get closer to see just how big the fire is” …
The analogy works because the Steel Skarecrow flame is being fanned by the wind of fans and radio supporters not just regionally but now nationally and it’s making them one of the hottest bands in the heartland and beyond. Whiskeys got my soul is the type of song that continues that momentum and fans that flame even further…
“We are glad the people are responding to the song so well and that it’s resonating with fans and radio folks! You never know when you write or record a song if it’s going to mean to someone else what it means to you. It’s great when everyone involved In the process from writing to recording, and then to the people that hear it the way we hoped they would… it’s very rewarding” says Shobe…
It’s easy to see why Shobe is in such high spirits. Steel Skarecrow has a good thing going. And they don’t seem to be slowing down at all…
