“Walking the Wire” by Mike Tipton and the Scoundrels Out Now
Midwest artist/band Mike Tipton & the Scoundrels are set to drop the latest effort in a long string of catchy country releases by the Kansas based act.
“Walking the Wire” will be the new streaming and radio title put forth from a group that’s made quite a bit of road noise in recent months. Crowds have been treated to the rotating cast of skilled musicians lead by band founder Mike Tipton (key writer and producer) over the summer and word is this new single has been a standout in the live show.
“It’s great when you see that crowd singing back to you a song they’ve never heard by the second verse”, says Tipton. He continues “It wasn’t that hard to make the single choice. The audiences have kind of made it for us by their reaction to it when we play it.”
Onlooking, one would have to agree when watching a full room clap and stomp to the new tune the way crowds would at a bonfire or a barn raising back in the day…The infectious beat and rhythmic chorus are instantly locked in your mind when you hear them and have you waiting anxiously for the chorus to roll around again so you can join in the sing along fun.
Tipton says that live approach is exactly what he wanted to convey through the song in the studio, “That live energy defines our music and this song is a perfect example of that feel at shows. So there’s no way we wanted to lose that vibe in the studio. We cut the song loose and live so that same expression of the song traveled with us in the recording process.”
Whether it’s Tipton’s vocals dropping low then re-soaring again or the drum pattern marching enjoyably through your head, “Walking the Wire” has that hypnotic “it” thing that you can’t put your finger on. That is unless you’re putting your finger on repeat. And we think you will.
