Midwest favorite Steel Skarecrow stands tall with new release…
Popular Midwest country band Steel Scarecrow is set to release another solid offering to digital markets August 18th, Big Hat No Cattle.
When asked what strategy the band uses when it’s choosing its releases, band leader Kurt Shobe was quick to re direct the mindset of the process. “We don’t really choose them” he smiles…”they kind of choose themselves. We have a group of people we send these out to our gatekeeping friends, within our music family and beyond. Then of course we play them live”.
He continues, “The process is less of a choice and more a collection of responses from all of the above. The gumbo of all of those reactions makes the call easy for us usually. And it’s rare that it wasn’t what I had in my gut to begin with”.
So was the case it would seem with the bands new single, Big Hat No Cattle. The latest musical web that Steel Scarecrow has spun catches the ears in its sticky melody and doesn’t let you go. It’s clear to see why that collection of people that Shobe bounces his music off of liked this one.
Friend and fellow songwriter, Brian McComas had this to say concerning the new effort.
“Kurt has a way of drawing you in with that one of a kind voice. If the song has a serious message, you trust what he saying. If it’s a lighter message or a good time that the song is promoting, he has a way with his voice that makes it feel like the whole room is raising a glass. This song is Kurt at his best”.
