Biography:
Journeyman, businessman, cowboy, artist…Just a few words you hear people use to describe Kurt Alan Shobe. But if you had to choose one word that fit into the fabric of all of those others then maybe the best would be “authentic”.
In a world that’s full of sound bites and sound offs both inside and out of music it’s refreshing to find a man who’s music is carved from the kind of emotion that only comes with real experience. All you have to do is spend a few minutes in conversation with Kurt to find yourself drawn in by the honest cadence of his voice and the entertaining way he can get you stuck in the web of the stories he spins.
It’s that same cadence that shows itself in the lines of his songs and the delivery of his vocals. Even though they might be new to your ears somehow the lyrics feel familiar when sung by a voice you can’t help but trust.
Perhaps that voice that puts the mind and ears at ease has developed through the years of living and learning Kurt has done. A self made man that has built his success on and off the stage from guts and grit, Kurt approaches his music craft like he does his business, with relentless energy and old school work ethic.
Whether it’s in the studio or on the live stage ask Kurt and he’ll tell you “he’s blessed to have the opportunity to do what he’s doing”… he takes his craft seriously but not himself. Maybe that’s why it’s not unusual to hear if you meet Kurt, you’ll like Kurt. And it would seem his music is getting the same reaction as it’s meeting people’s ears for the first time….if you hear it, you’re gonna like it.
